The Carpal Tunnel Of Love

  • We take sour sips from life's lush lips
And we shake, shake, shake the hips in relationships
    Stomp out this disaster town
You'll put your eyes to the sun and say, "I know
You're only blinding to keep back what the clouds are hiding."

And we might have started singing just a little soon
We're throwing stones at a glass moon

Whoa oh, we're so miserable and stunning
Whoa oh, love songs for the genuinely cunning, whoa-oh

We keep the beat with your blistered feet
We bullet the words at the mockingbirds singing
Slept through the weekend and dreaming
Of sinking with the melody of the cliffs of eternity
Got postcards from my former selves saying, "How you been?"

We might have said goodbyes just a little soon
    (Stomp out this disaster town)
Robbing lips, kissing banks under this moon

Whoa oh, we're so miserable and stunning
Whoa oh, love songs for the genuinely cunning
Whoa oh, we're so miserable and stunning
Whoa oh, love songs for the genuinely cunning, whoa-oh

It was ice cream headaches and sweet avalanche
When the pearls in our shells got up to dance
You call me a bad tipper of the cradle
Tired yawns for fawns on hunter's lawns
    We're the has-beens of husbands
Sharpening the knives of young wives
Take two years and call me when you're better
Take teardrops of mine, find yourself wetter

Whoa oh oh, we're so miserable and stunning
Whoa oh, love songs for the genuinely cunning
Whoa oh, we're so miserable and stunning
Whoa oh, love songs for the genuinely cunning Writer/s: Andrew John Hurley, Joseph Mark Trohman, Patrick Martin Stump, Peter Lewis Wentz, Wesley Eisold

  • Paquita from Milwaukee, WiYou call me a bad tipper of the cradle
    ----------
I think this referring to being a dead-beat dad. Idk though, just what I thought :p.

And I love the FOB cartoon versions. Just hate the gruesomeness of the video... but I still LOVE FOB! AAAGH!
  • Susan from Alabaster, Alew
i will never listen to this song again without thinking about people masturbating now :( but this is definatly my favorite song by FOB
and the happy tree friend made it just that much better
  • Kyle from Utah, Ut@ Darrell:

I agree with Loz from Australia. If you had actually heard the song, you would know that it has nothing to do with carpal tunnel syndrome. I should know, my mom has it. Also, Fall Out Boy loves to make weird song titles that have hardly anything or nothing to do with the song. They also like to make weird but creative song lyrics. So, I guess what I mean is, don't just go judging FOB without ever even hearing their awesome music, OK?

Thanks, I just wanted to make sure you knew what you were saying.

P.S. Most people from the stone age probably haven't heard them, anyway. Not that I'm talking about you, or anything. :)
  • Hannah from Summerville, Arluv the screamo!!!!!!!!!!!!the guitar work in the prelude [did i use the word prelude rite? watevr; idc] is pretty wicked 2
  • Ray from Nyc, Ny"The Carpal Tunnel of Love" can be interrupted as a strange way to say "masturbation".
  • Jenna from Nova Scotia, CanadaThe song is about how they used to be and how they changed, and how theirchoice to change is like throwing stones at a glass moon
  • Randi from Culpeper Killed Superman, Valol "the carpal tunnel of love" do you guys not get it and seriously GUYS. The title (not the whole song) is about mastrubating because his gf wont have sex with him.
  • Loz from Perth, AustraliaDarrell,

no offence, but have you even heard the song?!
its got nothing to do with the condition, but a clever play on words

    its kinda obvious....

IF YOU HAVE HEARD THE SONG THAT IS!
  • Jenna from Nova Scotia, Canadain the song Pete screams "take 2 years call me when your better, take tears of mine and find yourself wetter" it makes me cry...alot.
  • Kayla from Port Orcard, WaThis song isn't about the condition...
    Just the title.
    The video is gruesome though.
    But its awesome.
  • Gina from Woodbury Heights, NjThe song isn't about the condition carpal tunnel; did you even listen to it, or did you just read the title? It's about the consequences of your actions.
  • A.j. from Chicago, Ilthe music video features the characters and animation from the Internet series Happy Tree Friends where cute animals day gruesome, bloody deaths. the Fall Out Boy guys appear as cartoon versions of themselves and get decapitated. www.happytreefriends.com
  • Darrell from EugeneI have carpal tunnel that I got from turning wrenches and moving power tools around in my days as a worker in an auto-restoration shop for 36 years, and believe me, there is NO love about it. Why would someone write a song about this painful, disabling condition and associate it with love is beyond me. Darrell Wareheim, Age 64, former Auto Mechanic
