  • This is the sound
    The here and the now
You got to talk, to talk, to talk, to talk
    To get it all out

    I listen
    I listen
    I listen

    But you're out of tune
    You're so out of tune

This is the last song (this is the last song)
    This is the last song
That I will dedicate to you

    Something I've found
    Yeah, while I'm still around
You got to walk, to walk, to walk, to walk
    To make any ground

    You're pushing
    You're pushing
    You're pushing

    But there ain't no room
    No, there ain't no room

This is the last song (this is the last song)
This is the last song (this is the last song)
That I will dedicate to you
I made my peace and now I'm through
    This is the last song
That I will dedicate to you

    And yours is a name
    I will never name again
    I will never name again

    We pretend it doesn't matter
    We pretend it all away
    We pretend it all away

    We pretend
    We pretend
    We pretend

    But it ain't no use
This is the last song (this is the last song)
This is the last song (this is the last song)
That I will dedicate to you
I made my peace and now I'm through

    This is the last song
That I will dedicate to you
    To you

  • J from Atlanta, GaIt's not about Kurt, it's about Courtney Love and how sick he is of being asked about her and their ongoing disdain for each other. He's written so many songs venting his frustrations with her, and he wanted one last song to say he's done and ready to move on. Although... Bridge Burning starts off with, "These are my famous last words..." lol, good one, Dave.
  • Joel Maillet from Moncton, NbIt's obviously not about Kurt seeing as later in the album is the song "Friend of a Friend" which Dave confirmed WAS about Kurt
  • Ben from Gosford, AustraliaI remember when this album came out, every Sunday night this would be the song they'd play during church news. This song kept getting stuck in my head all the time! Still, pretty awesome song to get stuck in your head!
  • Dylan from Kalispell, Mtchill guys!
it says that this song is meant to be "the last song" (hence the title) about kurt so people will stop saying all the other songs are about him
  • Georgina from Laredo, TxIts' 2006 and still why is it that some people think that ever song that dave writes its' about Kurt Cobain. he has other things to write in his songs other that kurt and nirvana
  • Doug from Balintore, Scotlandi agree with bert, not every song the foo fighters write is about Kurt, if you look for parts in the song being about him you'll find something you can relate to Kurt's death but it's probably not intended to be that way
  • Bert from Pueblo, NmNo it is not, people should not send in their songfacts on what they get from the lyrics. This has never been stated in an interview. STOP SAYING EVERY FOO SONG IS ABOUT KURT.

    that being said...great song
