  • Woman
    Woman
Have you got cheating on your mind?
    On your mind

    Something's wrong between us
    That your laughter cannot hide
And you're afraid to let your eyes meet mine

And lately when I love you
    I know you're not satisfied

    Woman
    Woman
Have you got cheating on your mind?
    On your mind

I've seen the way men look at you
When they think I don't see
And it hurts to have them think that you're that kind

But it's knowing that you're looking back
    That's really killing me

    Woman
    Woman
Have you got cheating on your mind?
    On your mind

A woman wears a certain look
When she is on the move
And a man can always tell what's on her mind

I hate to have to say it
But that look's all over you

    Woman
    Woman
Have you got cheating on your mind?

    Oh, woman
    Woman
Have you got cheating on your mind? Writer/s: James Glaser, Jimmy Payne

  • Coy from Palestine, TexasJerry Fuller, who discovered and Produced the Union Gap, had heard his roommate Glen Campbell playing this record. It was a really country sounding record by Jim Glaser. Campbell was trying to decide what to record for his first big record, when he picked By the Time I get to Phoenix-Fuller asked, "Can I have Woman, Woman?" Campbell said take it and Fuller re-arranged as a big pop ballad to fit Puckett's voice. Jerry Fuller would write their next three hits, Young Girl, Lady Willpower and Over You.
  • Barry from Sauquoit, NyOn January 7th 1968, "Woman, Woman" by the Union Gap featuring Gary Puckett peaked at #4 (for 3 weeks) on Billboard's Hot Top 100 chart; it entered the chart on November 12th, 1967 and spent 17 weeks on the Top 100...
It was the group's debut record on the Top 100; their next three releases also made the Top 10; "Young Girl" (#2 for 3 weeks), "Lady Willpower" (#2 for 2 weeks), and "Over You" (#7 for 2 weeks), all four peaked in Top 10 during the calendar year of 1968...
Mr. Puckett celebrated his 71st birthday three months ago on October 17th.
  • Chris Carnicelli from Auburn, NyI saw Gary Puckett last week at the NYS Fair in Syracuse. He was outstanding! I never realized what a hunk he was! He gave a moving tribute to Veterans and had all the vets stand up. Real class act!
  • Patricia from Pueblo, Co@Dave--Sure you're not thinking about This Girl Is A Woman, Now?
  • Barry from Sauquoit, NyGary and the boys only charted seven records but five of them made the Top 10; Woman, Woman {#4}, Young Girl {#2}, Lady Willpower {#2}, Over You {#7}, & This Girl Is A Woman Now {#9}. And "Don't Give In To Him" came close, peaked at #15!!!

  • Bill from Cherry Hill, Nj......I actually watched the first moon landing with this band after a concert!
  • Mary from Phoenix, AzI think it's a beautiful song...very well written. And the singer sounds sincere. IMHO.
  • Joel from Mexico, Mexicoi have heard a very beauty version by the australian johnny farnham.
  • Dave from Phoenix, AzA story goes that when the band was trying to plug this song, they took it to WLS Radio in Chicago and WLS listened to it...and refused to play it because they said it was too "dirty". From time to time, Gary Puckett dedicates this song to WLS and tells the story to audiences.
  • Madeline from Yakima, WaI've heard that the group's name came from Union Gap Washington near the city of Yakima.
