  • Now your bowl is empty
    And your feet are cold
And your body cannot stop rocking
    I know
    It hurts to let go

Since the day we found you
    You have been our friend
And your voice still echoes in the hallways of this house
    But now
    It's the end

    We will be with you
    When you're leaving
    We will be with you
    When you go
    We will be with you
And hold you till you're quiet
It hurts to let you go

    We will be with you
    We will be with you
    We will be with you
You will stay with us Writer/s: Walter Andre De Backer

  • Joe from VirginiaAnyone who has ever said goodbye to a beloved pet will understand this song instantly and will weep as they did when that gentle, furry life first left them for the rainbow bridge.
  • Max from IdahoThis one can make me cry just by singing it in my head.
  • Nigel Davies from United Kingdom This is the only song that has made me cry just by listening to it for the first time. Beautiful.
  • Ben from Gladstone, QldThis is probably the first song which the lyrics have made me actually have a visceral reaction to. Sometimes, a song's melody will mae me react emotionally, but never the lyrics, until now. We had just put down our dog when I heard this, but I didn't register the lyrics, just that it was a nice song. About three months later, I heard it and began to cry uncontrollably. Gosh, it was hard. Good on Gotye for making such a good song, though.
