  • We all have a weakness
But some of ours are easy to identify
    Look me in the eye
    And ask for forgiveness
We'll make a pact to never speak that word again
    Yes, you are my friend
We all have something that digs at us
At least we dig each other

So when weakness turns my ego up
I know you'll count on the me from yesterday

    If I turn into another
Dig me up from under what is covering
    The better part of me
    Sing this song
Remind me that we'll always have each other
When everything else is gone, oh oh oh

    We all have a sickness
    That cleverly attaches and multiplies
    No matter how we try
We all have someone that digs at us
At least we dig each other

So when sickness turns my ego up
I know you'll act as a clever medicine

    If I turn into another
Dig me up from under what is covering
    The better part of me
    Sing this song
Remind me that we'll always have each other
    When everything else is gone
    Oh, each other
    When everything else is gone

Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh
Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh

    Oh
    If I turn into another
Dig me up from under what is covering
    The better part of me
    Sing this song
Remind me that we'll always have each other
    When everything else is gone
Oh, each other (sing this song)
    When everything else is gone
    Oh, each other
When everything else is gone Writer/s: Benjamin Lee Kenney, Brandon Charles Boyd, Christopher E Kilmore, Jose Anthony Ii Pasillas, Michael Aaron Einziger

  • Douglas from Volcano HawaiiI feel that it is about the love of two friends that feel their friendship is more important than entering a relationship "We all have a weakness" that is love but they "make a pact to never speak that word again" love is that word. But their friendship bond is so strong they will alway be there for each other until the end. I have been there. I get it. Incubus is amazing just sayin.
  • Myla from San Diego, CaOkay, can someone tell me why the ballet theme in the video?
  • Patrick from Overland Park, KsI like how Brandon uses three different meanings for the word "dig" in the lyric. This song just puts me in my happy place. Amazing song.
  • Rafael from Bogotá, Columbiawhat a great song
  • Rafael from Bogotá, Columbiaeverytime that I hear this song, I feel an undescriptible sense about what it's important in a relationship,a really nice song
  • Timmy from Mukilteo, Wathis song is about bringing out the best in others, and how a friend should help a friend if their going through hard times or doing bad things.
  • Mike from Glendale, AzI remember reading something before "light Grenades" was even released and Brandon Boyd said something about this song being "the heaviest song they've ever done" and I'm thinking "hell ya this song is rock my ass off". Then i hear it for the first time and I understand what he meant by that comment. The message about true friendship in a relationship is the "heavy" he was talking about. The music itself is gorgeous no doubt about that. I saw Incubus in Mesa in Sept. 2007 and Mike's Hendrix-like solo on this song blew my mind. I've been an Incubus fan since Fungus and "Dig" is already on my short list for favorite Incubus songs. keep up the good work guys!!
  • Courtney from Salt Lake City, UtI completely relate to this song on so many different levels. Incubus's songs are so inspirational and compassionate to me. No matter what song I hear of theirs, I can relate to it one way or another. This song reminds me of my ex boyfriend (the love of my life and soul mate.) I wish that he would have forgiven me for my mistakes and was still in my life today.
  • Desirae from Harrison, Ohwhat a great song..."we all have someone that digs at us at least we dig each other"
