  • I don't give a damn 'bout my reputation
You're living in the past it's a new generation
A girl can do what she wants to do and that's
    What I'm gonna do
An' I don't give a damn 'bout my bad reputation

    Oh no, not me
An' I don't give a damn 'bout my reputation
Never said I wanted to improve my station
    An' I'm only doin' good
    While I'm havin' fun
An' I don't have to please no one
    An' I don't give a damn
    'Bout my bad reputation

    Oh no, not me
    Oh no, not me

    I don't give a damn
    'Bout my reputation
I've never been afraid of any deviation
    An' I don't really care
    If ya think I'm strange
    I ain't gonna change
    An' I'm never gonna care
    'Bout my bad reputation

    Oh no, not me
    Oh no, not me

    Pedal boys!
    An' I don't give a damn
    'Bout my reputation
    The world's in trouble
    There's no communication
An' everyone can say what they want to say
    It never gets better anyway
    So why should I care
    'Bout a bad reputation anyway
    Oh no, not me
    Oh no, not me

I don't give a damn 'bout my bad reputation
You're living in the past it's a new generation
An' I only feel good when I got no pain
An' that's how I'm gonna stay
    An' I don't give a damn
    'Bout my bad reputation

    Oh no, not me
    Oh no, not
Not me, not me, not me! Writer/s: Joan Jett, Kenneth Laguna, Martin Kupersmith, Ritchie Cordell

  • AnonymousThis Song came From The Cleveland Show and Once Upon A Time
  • George from Vancouver, CanadaWhat are "pedal boys"? I was around, as a teen, in '81, don't recall this song, though. Catchy af; the lyrics should've been a girl anthem!

Jett burst onto the scene, where I was, with "I Love Rock 'n Roll"(same album, in '81) then again with "I Hate Myself for Loving You" in '88.
  • Alex from Elwood , IlSaw it on the 100 Greatest Hard Rock songs and it is Awesome
  • Paul from Jersey City, NjThis song was a standard teenage anthem for the roller rink clans
  • Joe from Bethlahem, PaFreaks and Geeks was an awesome show, this song fit perfectly in the begining.
  • Fyodor from Denver, CoContinues the theme of "Cherry Bomb," which Joan Jett wrote (or co-wrote?) even though it was The Runaways' Cherie Currie who sang it cause she was The Runaways' lead singer per manager Kim Fowley's design. I think Joan Jett would be perfect for the Super Bowl!!
  • Heather from Holbrook, NyNever released as a single? I remember this song being a video on MTV.
  • Daughter Of Fenris from N/a, WaThis is a great song! Its only of my themesongs/anthems! ^.^ Its perfect for this freak on a leash!
