  • Why me Lord, what have I ever done
    To deserve even one
    Of the pleasures I've known
Tell me Lord, what did I ever do
    That was worth loving You
    Or the kindness You've shown

Lord, help me Jesus, I've wasted it
So help me Jesus, I know what I am
But now that I know that I've needed You
So Help me Jesus, my soul's in Your hand

Try me Lord, if You think there's a way
    I can try to repay
    All I've taken from You
Maybe Lord, I can show someone else
    What I've been through myself
On my way back to You

Lord, help me Jesus, I've wasted it
So help me Jesus, I know what I am
But now that I know that I've needed You
So help me Jesus, my soul's in Your hand

Lord, help me Jesus, I've wasted it
So help me Jesus, I know what I am
But now that I know that I've needed You
So help me Jesus, my soul's in Your hand

  • Randy On The Seacoast from New Hampshire@Anna Purvis.
Anna, that is a mighty bold accusation. Not only does it undermine the integrity of our beloved songwriting hero, but it is woefully inflammatory. One must produce receipts on this type of rhetoric. To simply drop it and skidaddle, makes it gossip. Defaming gossip at that. The man has passed. 'No details out if respect for the person's family'. Kristofferson however, you are okay with disrespecting the person whom contributed to the world, timeless pieces of happiness. Maybe just...not post, instead of being a horrible human.
  • Cliff Ayscue from Scotland Neck NcAnna Purvis, how so?
  • Evan Kinsman from GaMy favorite composer and man who sings from his heart.
  • Anna Purvis from GaThis song wasn't written by Kris Kristofferson. Shame on him for not telling the truth. A woman in North Carolina was the person who wrote it. I won't tell her name out of respect for her family.
