  • God bless us, everyone
We're a broken people living under loaded gun
    And it can't be outfought
    It can't be outdone
    It can't be outmatched
    It can't be outrun
    No

    God bless us, everyone
We're a broken people living under loaded gun
    And it can't be outfought
    It can't be outdone
    It can't be outmatched
    It can't be outrun
    No

And when I close my eyes tonight
    To symphonies of blinding light
    (God bless us, everyone
We're a broken people living under loaded gun, oh)
    Like memories in cold decay
    Transmissions echoing away
Far from the world of you and I
Where oceans bleed into the sky

    God save us, everyone
Will we burn inside the fires of a thousand suns?
For the sins of our hand
    The sins of our tongue
    The sins of our father
    The sins of our young
    No

    God save us, everyone
Will we burn inside the fires of a thousand suns?
For the sins of our hand
    The sins of our tongue
    The sins of our father
    The sins of our young
    No

And when I close my eyes tonight
    To symphonies of blinding light
    (God save us, everyone
Will we burn inside the fires of a thousand suns? Oh)
    Like memories in cold decay
    Transmissions echoing away
Far from the world of you and I
Where oceans bleed into the sky

Oh, like memories in cold decay
    Transmissions echoing away
Far from the world of you and I
Where oceans bleed into the sky

    Lift me up
    Let me go
    Lift me up
    Let me go
    Lift me up
    Let me go
    Lift me up
    Let me go
    Lift me up
    Let me go
    Lift me up
    Let me go
    Lift me up
    Let me go
    Lift me up
    Let me go
    Lift me up
    Let me go
Lift me up (it can't be outfought, it can't be outdone)
Let me go (it can't outmatched, it can't be outrun now)

    God bless us, everyone
We're a broken people living under loaded gun
    And it can't be outfought
    It can't be outdone
    It can't outmatched
    It can't be outrun
    No

    God bless us, everyone
We're a broken people living under loaded gun
    And it can't be outfought
    It can't be outdone
    It can't outmatched

  • Cinderella22I wouldn't be surprised if Jon Podesta was the father Chester was thinking of which is a very evil man who will be going to GITMO for a very long time if not until his death. He will have much company if they aren't all there now! One can hope!
  • Connor from British ColumbiaThe is song is definitely about the new world order and rise of the anti Christ. Sorry, that's what it's about.
  • Shadow from Depression, VaI changed my username, the comment below is mine
  • Courtney from Chesterfield, VaThis is my very favorite song. It amazes me, it's the last thing I hear at night (twice, with the volume turned waaaay up). The words move me to tears. I saw several meanings to this- the one listed above, and also another, more political (and spiritual) one. "God save us, everyone"- from America. "Where we burn inside the fires/Of a thousand suns"- the Christian apocalypse. The song building, intensifying, and then- soft, piano. Soft electronics. "Lift me up/Let me go" repeated several times. This is also the first Linkin Park song I've heard where Chester really gets into the vocalizing. And I love that. Linkin Park is the best and this is their best song- EVER.
  • Charlie from Las Vegas, Nvif the book 'American Gods' by Neil Gaiman was made into a movie, this song would go PERFECT on the soundtrack.
