  • So what are you doing back?
Well, I sat back and thought about the things we used to do
It really meant a lot to me, you mean a lot to me
I really mean that much to you?
    Girl, you know it's true

I'm in love with you girl 'cause you're on my mind
You're the one I think about most every time
And when you pack a smile in everything you do
Don't you understand, girl, this love is true

You're soft, succulent so sweet and thin
That's kind of like a vision upon your skin
It lightens up my day, and that's oh so true
Together we're one separated we're two

To make you all mine, all mine is my desire
'Cause you contain a quality, you that I admire
You're pretty plain and simple, you rule my world so try to understand

    I'm in love girl
    I'm in so love girl
    I'm just in love girl
    And this is true

    Girl, you know it's true
Ooh, ooh, ooh I love you
Yes, you know it's true ooh
    Ooh, ooh I love you

Girl, you know it's true my love is for you
Girl, you know it's true my love is for you

This is some sort of thing, girl, I can't explain
My emotions starts up when I hear your name
Maybe your sweet sweet voice which ring in my ear
And stimulate my senses when you are near

Come with your positive emotion, love, making enjoyin'
That's for me to bust it's like a girl and a boy
These feelings I get I often wonder why
So I thought I might discuss this, girl, just you and I

Now what you wear, I don't care, how you dressed before
The reason that I like you, girl, just for what you are
If I sit and think about it, you rule my world so try to understand

    I'm in love girl
    I'm in so love girl
    I'm just in love girl
    And this is true

    Girl, you know it's true
Ooh, ooh, ooh I love you
    Yes, you know it's true
Ooh, ooh, ooh I love you

Girl, you know it's true, my love is for you

I'm in love with you girl
I'm in love with you girl (girl, girl, girl, girl)
    I'm in love with you
    I'm in love with you
    I'm in love with you

Girl, you know it's true my love is for you
    Girl, you know it's true
Ooh, ooh, ooh I love you
    Yes, you know it's true
Ooh, ooh, ooh I love you Writer/s: Kayode F. Adeyemo, Kevin Wesley Liles, Rodney L. Holloman, Sean Stafford Spencer, William Ed Jr. Pettaway

  • Frank from DallasWhile this song does use the breakbeat from The Soul Searchers' "Ashley's Roachclip" as does Eric B. & Rakim's "Paid in Full" which was released in 1987, "Back To Life" by Soul II Soul does not use the same sample. On the album version that starts as an acapella, the beat that comes in at the end is the opening break from The Honey Drippers "Impeach The President". On the Club Remix and what we hear in the music video, the break is from Graham Central Station's "The Jam".
  • Rd from CanadaInteresting you included Snap's "The Power". The main vocal part: "I've got the power!" was sampled from a Jocelyn Brown acapella version of "Love's Gonna Get You".
  • Cassie from Phoenix, AzAccording to Fab, the incident with the tape malfunctioning wasn't actually a huge deal, but that it made for good drama. He also says that he and Rob were not actually forced to give back the Grammy.
  • Seventhmist from 7th HeavenWhy the nonsense of comparing this fraudulent act with the Monkees? Mickey, Davy, Mike and sometimes Peter always sang, but weren't allowed to play much on their first two albums, which changed when Don Kirshner was booted from the scene.
  • Jason from Auckland, NzActually, Rob Pilatus could speak and understand German. He was raised in Germany and spoke German fluently (this was shown in his "Behind the Music" interview in 1998, just before he died). Fab Morvan was French.
  • Bob from Kingwood, TxThe "N.Y. Subway Extended Mix" version of this contains an alteration of the "Ma ma se, ma ma sa, ma ma coo sas." chant from Cameroon native Manu Dibango's 1972 song "Funky Soul Makossa."
  • Eric from Bend, OrSongFacts says Shaw was the one who first revealed that the face of the group were not the voices on the record. However, I seem to remember seeing a story on the news on TV back in the day saying they were revealed to not be the real singers when they were performing a concert and their record skipped, or there was some other audio problem in the middle of one of their songs.
  • Eric from Bend, OrI remember when Milli Vanilli were exposed for lip syncing. But how can a tape skip and repeat the same thing over and over? I can't picture a tape player malfunctioning that way.
  • Tom from Chicago, Ilfrauds or not this tune is a classic
  • Joe from Bellingham, Wawhat's weird is that a week before the incedent, someone had burned a milli vanilli record after playing it backwords and hearin "lies" said twice (happened in New Zealand) and this song reached #2 on April Fools day, and when the song skipped the word that was missing was "true" weird huh?
  • Beau from Phoenix, AzI don't care who actually sang it, this is cheesy 80's pop... and I love it.

Rob and Fab wanted to sing on the record, but they were told not to. They wanted fame, so they just went along for the ride.
  • Brandon from Peoria, IlThe real singers were old overweight black dudes...not exactly the kind of performers that this country wanted to see a the time. If they did it now, they could become someone. I mean, if Taylor Hicks won American Idol and a Rappin' Granny was the judges favorite on America's Got Talent, than these old overweight black dudes that donated their vocals to Milli Vanilli could be stars.
  • Clarke from Pittsburgh, PaNever mind that Fabrice Morvan (whom I met once) and Rob Pilatus didn't sing it - it's still good, catchy pop music, and that's what counts. In the end, the song stands on its own musical merit.
  • Neil from Middlesbrough, United StatesBoyzone Dancers (Keith 'N' Shane) did a RAP cover version after BOYZONE split up.
  • Paul from Galway, IrelandBoney M's lead male singer wasn't singing and the band said so too. It didn't matter the guy who sang got paid and every one was happy. The stayed around for a good while. Milli Vanilli why didn't you do that. it could've been so much easier
  • Camille from Mesquite, Txi agree with marlo.it really is a shame what these guys went through.from what I hear they were forced to lip sing by there contract and were trying to get there manager to let them use there own vocals before "the incident" ever occured. can you imagine being on top of the world one day then having all of it taken away the next? It must be horrible to be all over tv and have millions of fans and then because of one mistake your the laughing stock of the whole world.plus after being humilated like that they didnt have anything to fall back on. they came to america to be either singers, dancers, or models because that's all they knew and thats what they were good at. what were they supposed to do afterwards when the whole world hated them? I don't know how even Rob lasted as long as he did...
  • Re from Chicago, IlPersonally, I've been a fan of 'Milli Vanilli' - and still am - for the best part of some 14 years. Ever since I first watch them perform onthier videos (even if they didn't really sing) on MTV, way back in early 1989. To me it didn't really matter that they weren't really the voices or talent behind the music, their performances on the videos and live-concerts was enough to sell as many records as they did while they were at the prime of their careers.
I'm personally proud to own all three offical 'Milli Vanilli' albums = the European released "All or Nothing/Girl You Know it True"(1988),"All or Nothing"(The Remixes-Import Album), "The Remixes-Album"(1990 U.S.Version), 'Real Milli Vanilli:'"Moment of Truth"(aka.'Keep on Running'-2nd Album).
PLUS, the Bonuses = 'Rob & Fab's(1992-3) album, and 'Try N'B's:' "Sexy Eyes"(1992),'
I also have my own private CD-RW, 'Best of -Greatest Hits' compilation of 'Milli Vanilli' songs. If you are a die-hard fan of the original 'Rob & Fab'(aka.'Brothers of Soul')the sound, or image, I recommend you track down and listen to the single: "Keep on Running" from the "Real Milli Vanilli" album = The Moment of Truth. This last single was, and still is 'da bomb!
  • Dave from Cardiff, WalesI really enjoyed Milli Vanilli's music at the time, but tragically they imploded when it was revealed that in fact the band werew a sham who had nothing to do with their records
  • T from Youngstown, Ohyah' I remember "the big" rumor going around at the time of the fallout was "that Eddy Grant" was the singer on all the tracks - Did they ever expose who was the vocalists on this great pop hit recording ??? like em or not - those guys were huge !

  • Christopher from Greenfield Center, NyI like this LP. I don't care who it was doing the actual singing. The music is great. It is sooooo '80's
  • Edward Pearce from Ashford, Kent, EnglandIronically this reached its peak American chart position of #2 on April Fool's Day in 1989.
  • Nick from Arlington Heights, IlThe whole Milli Vanilli saga took a tragic turn when Rob Pilatus committed suicide in 1998 at the age of 32.
  • Ryan from Salt Lake City, UtWhat was sad was Fabrice could actually sing!!!!
  • Annabelle from Eugene, OrI laughed my head off when the tape skipped! I believe they were actually using an LP Record.
  • Marlo from Perth, Australiaits sad what these guys went through. i hope fabrice is not still depressed. i hope he's on his feet again
  • Brian from Mayfield Heights, Ohall i have to say is " girl you know it's...girl you know it's...girl you know it's...girl you know it's...girl you know it's..."
