  • If you like to gamble
I tell you, I'm your man
    You win some, lose some
It's all the same to me

    The pleasure is to play
Makes no difference what you say
    I don't share your greed
    The only card I need
    Is the Ace of Spades
    The Ace of Spades

    Playing for the high one
    Dancing with the devil
    Going with the flow
It's all a game to me

    Seven or eleven
    Snake eyes watching you
    Double up or quit
    Double stake or split
    The Ace of Spades
    The Ace of Spades

You know I'm born to lose
    And gambling's for fools
But that's the way I like it, baby
    I don't wanna live forever
    And don't forget the joker

    Pushing up the ante
I know you got to see me
    Read 'em and weep
    The dead man's hand again

I see it in your eyes
    Take one look and die
    The only thing you see
    You know it's gonna be
    The Ace of Spades
The Ace of Spades, uh Writer/s: Edward Alan Clarke, Ian Kilmister, Philip John Taylor

  • Anti-racist/anti-narcissist from Londoni used to love this song. a spade is the n-word for english people. also the song sounds like the killing floor by MR JIMI HENDRIX. when i was young, i used to muck around playing killing floor on the guitar sometimes i would throw in a bit of ace of spades as well - personally, i believe that was the inspiration. like i said, i USED to like this song. I love Jimi - he is the ace in any card game. Jimi gambled with his life a bit and paid the price i guess ... people like that are called joker or ace by envious or narcissistic people.
  • Dan Gillespy from Courtenay BcA very good and cool song about gambling and it is Motorheads most popular song.
  • Nate from Attleboro,maI hate this song because the card, ace of spades, essentially killed Cliff Burton

LONDON (AP) - British hard rock band Motorhead says former guitarist Edward "Fast Eddie" Clarke has died aged 67.
Motorhead says on Facebook that Clarke died Wednesday in a hospital while being treated for pneumonia.
Clarke joined Motorhead soon after it was founded in 1975 by former Hawkwind bassist Ian "Lemmy" Kilmister. He was the final survivor of the band's classic lineup: Lemmy, Clarke and drummer Phil "Philthy Animal" Taylor.
Kilmister and Taylor both died in 2015.
Clarke's time in Motorhead produced some of the band's biggest hits, including the ferocious anthem "Ace of Spades."
Clarke left Motorhead in 1982 and later formed the band Fastway.
A later Motorhead guitarist, Phil Campbell, said on Facebook that Clarke "will be remembered for his iconic riffs and was a true rock n roller. RIP Eddie."

  • Fay from Idaho Falls, IdLemmy is one homely dude, but man can he sing!He really belts this one out!
  • Tom from Cleveland, OhLemmy Kilmister also contibuted to Eagle Record's Christmas compilation -We Wish You A Merry Xmas and A Headbanging New Year - Released on October 13, 2008... The track also features Billy Gibbons of ZZ Top and Dave Grohl (Nirvana/Foo Fighters)

  • Luke from Manchester, EnglandIt was Wild Bill Hickok not Hancock who was killed during a game of cards.
  • Steven from Viking, CanadaMotorhead also does all of the proffesional wrestler Triple H's entrance themes. ie: The Game, King of Kings, and A Line in the Sand
  • Nils from Oslo, NorwayActually, Lemmy loves gambling, but prefers the slot machines, but, as he once said, "it really isn't that cool singing about spinning fruit!"
And the Ace of Spades is not the synonym to The Dead Man's hand.. The Ace of Spades is, as the name implies, the ace in spade
  • Matt from Melbourne, AustraliaThis song Rules!!! Saw thm in melbourne last year supporting Motley Crue!
    Show went off! Rock on!
  • Steve from Solihull, EnglandThe Dean Man's Hand is two pair: black aces and eights. This was indeed the hand the Wild Bill Hickock was holding when he was shot in the back of the head in a bar in Deadwood. There is some debate as to what the fifth card his was holding was. The most popular opinion is that it was the 5 of diamonds.
  • Scott from Tredegar, Waleslemmy wrote this song at half seven in the morning pissed out of his head on an acoustic guitar!
