  • Saw you walking out on Sentimental Street
    What cha going out there
    Who ya trying to be
    I know what you're thinking
    Cause I've been there myself
I've been kicked so many times
    I don't know nothing else
    Still I noticed your urgency
    I recognized the flair
    That ya got from chasing
    All those East coast dares
    I've seen it before
    It happens time and again
    All cut up inside
Yet you're caught in a spin

Out on Sentimental Street in the avenues
    Take a good hard look
    There ain't nothing ever new
Out on Sentimental Street in the avenues
    Will you ever find out
Guess I'll leave it up to you

Saw you dancing out at Madame Wong's to
You did those same two steps
That I taught you back in June
    Heard you dined last night
    At Conte Razor's Cafe
    Did you get your fill
Did you think you had to pay
    Still I noticed your urgency
    And recognized the pain
And I'm sure it's the same
    You feel again and again
And I wish I could get us
    That second chance
But you're having too much fun
    With your sudden romance

Out on Sentimental Street in the avenues
    Take a good hard look
    There ain't nothing ever new
Out on Sentimental Street in the avenues
    Will you ever find us
Guess I'll leave it up to you

  • Dan from Canton OhioI hear sentimental street and I’m instantly back in 1985. A good song has a magic that captures you in the moment and in later times transports you back to that time. Love me some Night Ranger!
  • Mike from IndianaLike Cory's comment. My brother Mark got me listening to Night Ranger. Sadly he's gone but I have our memories of listening to this and other great 80s music
  • Cory from Indianapolis Night Ranger has always been a great combination. Blades , Gillis , Fitz. My older brother got me listening in the 80s and from there. We had a rough life growing up. The only thing we had was music. So this is the only way we could detach from the chaos and dream. Or act like we were in the band singing. It was some awesome artistry to look up to and dream.
  • Barry from Sauquoit, NyOn this day in 1985 {July 6th} a video of Night Ranger's "Sentimental Street" was aired on the ABC-TV Saturday-afternoon program, 'American Bandstand'...
At the time "Sentimental Street" was at #15 on Billboard's Top 100 chart, three weeks later it would peak at #8 {for two weeks}, and it spent seventeen weeks on the Top 100...
It peaked at #3 on Billboard's Mainstream Rock Songs chart...
Between 1983 and 1988 the San Franciscan band had eleven records on the Top 100, two made the Top 10, the above "Sentimental Street" and "Sister Christian" at #5 for two weeks in June of 1984...
  • Shawn from Green Bay, WiGreat song. Didn't realize it was so simple. At times, Keagy seems a little overwhelmed with singing it.
