  • Susan from IllinoisAnonymous, “sign” means astrological sign. During the 1970s many people believed some astrological signs were more compatible with other astrological signs.
  • Carl Hartwell from UkWas this song released in the UK?
  • AnonymousWhat's the meaning of "sign" in what's the matter with your head and your sign?
  • Markantney from VaJul23,
Add it to the list of Great-Great-Great songs that you thought were #1 at one time.
  • Kimberly F from KyWhat does Take it from the Vine mean in the Redbone song COME AND GET YOUR LOVE?
  • Main Vine from FloridaI have seen the lyrics on other sites as well. Some say get it from the mainline like this site has it and a comment thinking mainline its about drugs. A person would think that saying mainline, The true lyrics its get it from the MAIN VINE meaning MOTHER EARTH !! please correct it. [Yeah, it sure sounds like "main vine," and that makes more sense. We made that correction. -editor]
  • T'ika from California Rob from NYC,
    You are wrong.
    You don't know the lyrics.
    "Main vine" is correct.
    (Tree of Life)
  • Cb from Kythis song is also the intro song for the animated show "F Is For Family"
  • George E H from Liverpool England This song is played on an advert in the UK and is having a revival with the younger generation. Happy summer time song.
  • Old Dude from KansasThank you for the music and the education. What a spectacular hit. Truly a magical tune.
  • Rob from New York CityI was 11 when this came out and loved it. However, I have a different take on the meaning, at least part of it. The lyrics state "what's the matter with you(r) feel right..... yeah, you get it from the mainline...", which, to me, is a blatant drug reference. Correct me if I'm wrong here, but isn't this so?
  • Mavis from Upper MidwestHow can this timeless tune have only one comment? It’s truly a get-happy kind of song!
  • Barry from Sauquoit, NyOn February 16, 1974, Redbone performed "Come and Get Your Love" on the Dick Clark ABC-TV Saturday-afternoon program, 'American Bandstand'...
At the time the song was at #35 on Billboard's Top 100 chart, eight weeks later it would peak at #5 {for 2 weeks} and it spent almost a half-year on the Top 100 {23 weeks}...
It reached #75 on Billboard's R&B Singles chart...
Besides "Come and Get Your Love", the Los Angeles-based group had two other Top 100 records, "Maggie" {#45 in 1971} and "The Witch Queen of New Orleans" {#21 in 1972}...
Sadly, two members of the band have passed away, Tony Bellamy on December 25th, 2009 and Lolly Vegas on March 4th, 2010...
    May they both R.I.P.
