  • There's a place where lovers go to cry their troubles away
And they call it lonesome town, where the broken hearts stay
You can buy a dream or two to last you all through the years
And the only price you pay is a heartful of tears

Goin' down to lonesome town, where the broken hearts stay
Goin' down to lonesome town to cry my troubles away
In the town of broken hearts the streets are paved with regret
Maybe down in lonesome town I can learn to forget

  • Mike Mckean from Waynesville, NcTo make Ricky's voice deeper and breathier, the recording was slowed down from the key of C to F#. Watching two performances on his parents' TV show, it is apparent he is strumming his guitar in C (along with James Burton, who doesn't play a lead) and the Jordanaires sound sluggish and off-tempo.
  • Neil Cacci from Nashville, Tn.Who is that dreamy eyed girl with black hair in the audience of the "Lonesome Town" video in one of the Ozzie and Harriet episodes?
