Through the Ghost

  • Speak of the devil
Look who just walked into the room
    The guilted and faded
Notion of someone I once knew

All the perfect moments are wrong
All the precious pieces are gone
    Everything that mattered is just
    A city of dust
    Covering both of us

    Did you hide yourself away?
    I can't see you anymore
    Did you eclipse another day?
I used to wake up to the color of your soul

    Did you hide yourself away?
Are you living through the ghost?
Did you finally find a place
Above the shadows so the world will never know?
The world will never know you like I do

    So many silent sorrows
    You never hear from again
And now that you've lost tomorrow
    Is yesterday still a friend?

All the bridges we built were burned
Not a single lesson was learned
    Everything that mattered is just
    A city of dust
    Covering both of us

    Did you hide yourself away?
    I can't see you anymore
    Did you eclipse another day?
I used to wake up to the color of your soul

    Did you hide yourself away?
Are you living through the ghost?
Did you finally find a place
Above the shadows so the world will never know?
The world will never know you like I do

    Like I still do

    Did you hide yourself away?
    I can't see you anymore
    Did you eclipse another day?
I used to wake up to the color of your soul (color of your soul)

    Did you hide yourself away?
Are you living through the ghost?
Did you finally find a place
Above the shadows so the world will never know? (Never know)

  • Brandy Glover from TennesseeI identify with almost all your music I'm bipolar and in recovery and I write so your an inspiration keep the danger coming I love it
  • Dani from Western MassachusettsSimilar situation here. I woke up one day and I didn't recognize HIM. He had let himself go. I TRIED to set him straight, I TRIED to explain things to him, I told him to open his eyes and take a good look in the mirror. I told him he was losing everything, including me.
No one knows him like I do, I've seen it too many times over and over. I thought I saw it coming, but I didn't want to believe it.
I've never expected perfection, but I can't do THIS again and it's going to hurt me to have to walk away and let him find himself. 23 years later, and I'm giving up.
  • Melanie Kilgore from New Canton VaBrent Smith has impacted my life in ways that you wouldn't think possible. My daughter at age 4, used to know every single word to sound of madness and we would listen to that whole album on the way to school every morning and she just screamed out the lyrics and had a blast. My son, at around 6 months old,, had colic, it was a nightmare. Then one night I decided I'd play some Attention Attention, not only to see if It would sooth him as it did me, and no longer than 30 seconds into that song, he was out like a light. And from then on out, I would use that album to calm him down during tantrums. Brent Smith is the hero to me and my babies!
