  • And another one bites the dust
Oh, why can I not conquer love?
And I might have thought that we were one
Wanted to fight this war without weapons
And I wanted it, I wanted it bad
But there were so many red flags
Now another one bites the dust
Yeah, let's be clear, I'll trust no one

    You did not break me
    I'm still fighting for peace

Well, I've got thick skin and an elastic heart
But your blade, it might be too sharp
I'm like a rubber band until you pull too hard
But I may snap when I move fast
But you won't see me fall apart
'Cause I've got an elastic heart

    I've got an elastic heart
Yeah, I've got an elastic heart

And I will stay up through the night
Yeah, let's be clear, won't close my eyes
And I know that I can survive
I'll walk through fire to save my life
And I want it, I want my life so bad
    I'm doin' everything I can
And another one bites the dust
It's hard to lose a chosen one

    You did not break me
    I'm still fighting for peace

Well, I've got thick skin and an elastic heart
But your blade, it might be too sharp
I'm like a rubber band until you pull too hard
But I may snap when I move fast
But you won't see me fall apart
'Cause I've got an elastic heart

    Oh, oh, oh-oh-oh-oh
    Oh, oh, oh
    Oh, oh, oh-oh-oh-oh
    Oh, oh, oh

Well, I've got thick skin and an elastic heart
But your blade, it might be too sharp
I'm like a rubber band until you pull too hard
But I may snap when I move fast
But you won't see me fall apart
'Cause I've got an elastic heart
Well, I've got thick skin and an elastic heart
But your blade, it might be too sharp
I'm like a rubber band until you pull too hard
But I may snap when I move fast
But you won't see me fall apart
'Cause I've got an elastic heart

  • Sarah from AlabamaThere is a reason why the video is like it is.
Maddie Ziegler represents Sia's wild side, like the animal inside of her.
    Shia LeBeouf represents Sia's reason.
In the beginning, they do not agree with each other.
But, they are slowly growing closer together and agreeing.
In the end, Sia's wild side can get out.
But, Sia's reason is stuck in side.

I hope this helps you out.
(I don't know if this is right or not, but I think it sounds reasonable)
  • Holly from SeattleI think this song is absolutely beautiful. I think having an "elastic heart" means that your heart has been through a great amount of trauma and hurt throughout the years. Somehow you're still standing, still breathing, still living..so it that way it's almost a surprise that after everything that should've broke you down, it has not. Instead, it's proven that you are a strong person (or that you tell yourself you must be a strong person) and can handle anything that comes your way. However, I think with recognizing the strength, we still cannot deny the pain that exists with each event that causes us pain or torment in life.

Sia is a brilliant song writer and artist. She has an amazing ability to transfer her most inner soul into song. I hope she continues gifting the world with her beautiful music for years to come.
