Did you ever see a woman
Coming out of New York City
With a frog in her hand?

Did you ever see a woman
Coming out of New York City
With a frog in her hand?

    I did, don't you know?
    I did, don't you know?
    I did, don't you know?
    And don't it show?

Did you ever see a woman
Coming out of New York City
With a frog in her hand?

  • Matthewgb from U.s And AUse your ears. New York City is a T.Rex song composed around a Boogie Saloon piano motif, Marc Bolan never composed songs in that style. Here’s a clue listen to the piano on Nightclubbing by Iggy Pop.
  • Ken999 from London Ukworst song ever from him. I loved him when i was a teenager. Now i realise this was crap. Off there heads.. One verse time over.... Again crap and i bought it!
  • Mike Becker from Valparaiso, InAnother story has Marc Bolan meeting a woman on 8th Street in Greenwich Village who is carrying a sick frog to a nearby pet store for counsel.
  • Bobby from Atlanta, GaOne critic unkindly said David Bowie's songs contained two good ideas whereas Marc split one idea into at least two songs. That said, this was a great return to form.
  • Davie from Paisley, ScotlandAccording to another boley story it was David Bowie he was with when he saw this mysterious woman. According to Gloria she was the woman and the frog was a toy kermit. Remember he was into congac and cocaine at the time. he could have seen a frog walking down the road with a woman in its hand. Would that have worked?
  • Paul from Rothesay, New Brunswick , CanadaThe song comes from the T. Rex album "Futuristic Dragon", and was somewhat of a comeback hit for Bolan in Great Britain. Marc refered to "New York City" as a "Boogie mind poem".
