Do you realize that you have the most beautiful face
Do you realize we're floating in space
Do you realize that happiness makes you cry
Do you realize that everyone you know someday will die

And instead of saying all of your goodbyes, let them know
You realize that life goes fast
It's hard to make the good things last
You realize the sun doesn't go down
It's just an illusion caused by the world spinning round

Do you realize, oh, oh, oh?
Do you realize that everyone you know
    Someday will die?

And instead of saying all of your goodbyes, let them know
You realize that life goes fast
It's hard to make the good things last
You realize the sun doesn't go down
It's just an illusion caused by the world spinning round

Do you realize that you have the most beautiful face
Do you realize? Writer/s: Dave Fridmann, Michael Ivins, Steven Drozd, Wayne Coyne

  • Josh from Champaign, IlI love this song, but I hate that it puts that thought into my head about everyone I know dying someday, it's not healthy for some people. I already think about it when I see movies from 70, 80 years ago, that all those people are dead. It's not something healthy to dwell on. I know, it's art and yeah, it's a deep, provocative line, but with as ubiquitous and pop music is, I think a little more care should be taken honestly. I love the song, but that line disturbs me deeply.
  • Leo from CalgaryI agree 100% with Wayne Coyne's comment about loving to believe there's a f..ing God to save a puppy (or battered women, or cancer victims, or the world from Covid or whatever the next scourge to visit Earth is) but, no amount of prayer or sacrifice or "belief" in whatever religion does that or ever will. There's no overarching God aside from the universe itself and its immutable, uncaring laws. So, what are we to do? Follow the whole doctrine of this amazing song and recognize every other living being on this tiny little planet in the middle of nowhere as special and beautiful and unique. Any person or group or religion or whatever who claims to have the answer is beyond deluded. We only have each other and a very short period of time so, love the one you're with and enjoy the short roller coaster ride.
  • John Sales from Cleveland, OhIsn’t there some issue with that song being plagerized?
  • Edward from St. Paul, MnThe best pop song of the 21st century... in my humble opinion.
  • Thelonging from Vineyard Haven, MaThat's amazing how this song is an official state rock song
  • Logan from Troy, MtExcellent Song. Too pretty to put into words. The video is unique enough that it scares me some though.
