  • She's got something that moves my soul
And she knows I'd love to love her
But she lets me down every time
    Can't make her mine she's no-one's lover
Tonight with me she'll be so inviting
I want her all for myself, oh

Temptation eyes looking through my my my soul
Temptation eyes, you got to love me
    Got to love me tonight

Her wild-eyed innocence is just a game
But just the same my head is spinnin'
She's got a way to keep me on her side
    It's just a ride that's never ending
Tonight with me she'll be so inviting
I want her all for myself, oh

Temptation eyes looking through my my my soul
Temptation eyes, you got to love me
    Got to love me tonight

Tonight with me she'll be so inviting
I want her all for myself

Temptation eyes looking through my my my soul
Temptation eyes, you got to love me
    Got to love me tonight

Temptation eyes looking through my my my soul
Temptation eyes, you got to love me
    Got to love me tonight

Temptation eyes looking through my my my soul
Temptation eyes, you got to love me
Got to love me tonight Writer/s: DAN WALSH, HARVEY PRICE

  • John Hudson from Roseville, CaExactly who actually played on this hit recording (Temptation Eyes)? There seem to be so many personnel variations in this band, it's hard to know who was on what song. I understand the "Wrecking Crew" was involved, so that might explain it. On their Ed Sullivan performance (abbreviated song video), they had the horns backing track playing (a must for this tune), so it makes me think that their performance was a pantomime. Every photo I have seen of the Grassroots has different people in it - except for perhaps Rick Conce and Warren Entner. It seems to me that SongFacts ought to have and provide these things.
  • Mark Wesley Curran from CaDoes anyone know who played bass on the original recording?
  • Scott Hoyt from Nashville, TnBill Jordan, the guitarist is Terry Furlong. Sonia, only Rob sang on Temptation Eyes. The other main, lead singer in the group was Warren Entner, who you can hear trading vocals with Rob on "Midnight Confessions". Later, (and seen in this video) is Dennis Provisor, who sang lead as well, most notably on "Walking Through The Country" and "I Can Turn Off The Rain".
  • Bill Jordan from Near Washington, DcWho is the guitarist on the right with the stars on his shirt?
  • Sonia from Las VegasDoes anyone know the names of the singers that sang Temptation Eyes by the Grass Roots besides Rob Grill? Thanks!
  • Bob from New Port Richey, Florida"Temptation Eyes" is a winner on my Spotify play list! Great song!
  • Barry from Sauquoit, NyOn December 20th 1970, "Temptation Eyes" by the Grass Roots entered Billboard's Hot Top 100 chart at position #68; and fourteen weeks later on March 28th, 1971 it peaked at #15 {for 1 week} and spent 18 weeks on the Top 100...
Between 1966 and 1976 the Los Angeles-based quartet had twenty-one Top 100 records; three made the Top 10, "Let's Live for Today" {#8 in 1967}, "Midnight Confessions" {#5 in 1968}, "Sooner or Later" {#9 in 1971}...
Bassist and lead singer "Rob" Grill passed away on July 11th, 2011 at the age of 67...
    May he R.I.P.
