  • Fell in love with a girl
I fell in love once and almost completely
She's in love with the world
But sometimes these feelings can be so misleading
She turns and said "Are you alright?"
I said I must be fine 'cause my hearts still beating
Come and kiss me by the riverside
Yeah Bobby said its fine, he don't consider it cheating now

    Red hair with a curl
Mellow roll for the flavor and the eyes for peeping
Can't keep away from the girl
These two sides of my brain need to have a meeting
Can't think of anything to do yeah my left brain knows that our love is fleeting
She's just looking for something new
Yeah, I said it once before but it bears repeating, now

    (Aah, aah, aah, aah)
    (Aah, aah, aah, aah)
    (Aah, aah, aah, aah)
    (Aah, aah, aah, aah)

Can't think of anything to do
Yeah my left brain knows that our love is fleeting
She's just looking for something new, well
I said it once before but it bears repeating now

Fell in love with a girl
I fell in love once and almost completely
She's in love with the world
But sometimes these feelings can be so misleading
She turns and said "Are you alright?"
I said I must be fine because my heart's still beating
Come and kiss me by the riverside
Yeah Bobby said its fine, he don't consider it cheating, now

    (Aah, aah, aah, aah)
    (Aah, aah, aah, aah)
    (Aah, aah, aah, aah)
    (Aah, aah, aah, aah)

Can't think of anything to do yeah
My left brain knows that our love is fleeting
She's just looking for something new
Well I've said it once before but it bears repeating, now Writer/s: John Anthony White

  • Plasticpunk from Earth Pixies rip-off. They're on tour see them
  • Mark from Worcester, MiI like the band a lot, I do wish they'd let the live show breath a little. They play an aggressive show for sure in hyper over drive. Either the music could use a little more room, or I'm missing something. Just a thought there-I do admire and appreciate the work.
  • /alix\ from Pinkerton, MiI've learned that I shouldn't listen the Joss Stone version. But anyway, this is the most innovative, and possibly best music video ever.
  • Eva from Cologne, GermanyThe line "Red hair with a curl" refers to Jack White's love for redheads.
  • Adrian from Brookings, SdThis is an awesome song, one of the band's best, but I also saw a slowed down, extremely bluesy version performed by Kristen 'n the Noise, one of the local bands where I went to college. That version just totally rocked and I'd give anything to hear it again or capture it on tape.
  • Alex from Perth, Australiathey dont imitate joss stones version at all because joss stone is a crap musician, jack just plays and sings it on piano live and it is such a cool change, it was my favourite of the set I saw them play, but it doesnt sound like stone's massicare at all.
  • Clay from Fredericksburg, VaI saw the White Stripes perform a slower version of this song. That rocked too.
  • Duane from Wheatfield, InFavorite White Stripes song not on the Elephant album. Video is crazy!
  • Zach from Philly, Ksjack white needs to do guitar solo's
  • Herman from Ridderkerk, NetherlandsThe Joss Stone version is ok, it's just different. It's very much different compared to the original version and covering isn't the smartest thing to do, but I still don't hate the song. I didn't hear anything about White Stripes boycotting the song or something like that. By the way, White Stripes rock! The concept, the band, it's just perfect.
  • Danny from London, EnglandJust a correction, The White Stripes do still play this song live, I've seen them do it 2 or 3 times since the Joss Stone cover came out. They now always do it in a slow rock style similar to her version because they liked her take on it so much. Although I still agree that she ruined it.
  • Guy from Beverly Hills, CaI love the video. it's amazing. If you haven't seen it, check it out sometime. it's sweet.
  • Amy from Lawrence, KsI remember hearing the song then forgetting about it
and then joss stone did it
    and i hated it
and i remebered the song again
now its one of my favorite
  • Lexie from Sydney, Australiathis is the song that made me like the white stripes
  • Matt from Monroe, LaI remember watching the MTV music awards in 2002 i believe and seeing The White Stripes perform this song.. I had never heard of them or seen them before...i was blown away..what a great concept and band..
  • Nathan from Defiance, OhI hate most modern music, but this song I actually like. Any Jack White fan should check out his collaboration with Beck on the song Go It Alone. Believe it or not he plays bass.
  • Jake from Houston, TxThey should preform it. Joss Stone? Forget her. Just don't play it in Europe.
  • Ville from Chicago, IlHa Ha guess i shouldnt listen to Joss Stone version from what i hear
  • Christyn Randon from New Orleans, LaJoss Stone singing it ruined it for everybody. The Stripes will no longer play it live for that exact reason.
  • Anastasia from Anaheim, Cagrrrr! joss stone seriously ruined this song for me!!!
  • Marvin from East Brady, Pai have heard this nicknamed "fell in love with a girl who fell in love with a girl" as it can be interpreted about wanting a girl who turns out to be a lesbian, or becomes one...personally, i don't see it
