  • Caught a lite sneeze caught a lite breeze
    Caught a lightweight lightningseed
    Boys on my left side
    Boys on my right side
    Boys in the middle
And you're not here I need a big loan
    From the girl zone

    Building
    Tumbling down
Didn't know our love was so small
    Couldn't stand at all
Mr St. John just bring your son

    The spire is hot
    And my cells can't feed
And you still got that Belle dragging your foots
I'm hiding it well Sister Ernestine
But I still got that Belle
    Dragging my foots

Right on time you get closer
    And closer
Called my name but there's no way in
    Use that fame
Rent your wife and kids today
    Maybe she will
Maybe she will caught a lite sneeze
    Dreamed a little dream
Made my own pretty hate machine
    Boys on my left side
    Boys on my right side
Boys in the middle and you're not here
    Boys in their dresses
    And you're not here
I need a big loan from the girl zone Writer/s: TORI ELLEN AMOS

  • Sarah from Minneapolis, MnIt's definitely at least partially about Trent. When she used to perform it live, she'd slip in a verse from Hurt and add in "you're full of sh--". So yeah, I think it's about getting involved with a guy and thinking you're in the midst of this passionate love affair, then realizing it actually didn't mean that much "didn't realize our love was so small".
  • Sara from Fareham, United KingdomI always thought this song was about Rosse. as for the trent thing, She refers to a love triangle when she talks about hey jupiter, so i wonder if 1995 (between rosse and mark) was an interesting year for her
  • Theresa from Murfreesboro, TnTori is at her best when she is singing about betrayal. I bet Trent Reznor wasn't too happy about this song, ha ha!
  • The R from Hoboken, NjThe one line is only a nod to trent reznor. The song is about betrayal.
  • Icecreamassassin from Providence, Riwas it ever confirmed that Tori had an affair with Trent? She does in fact reference a NIN song, but she worked with Trent on Past the Mission so her reference here might just be a little wave to Trent given their past collaboration.
