  • Don't want to be a Canadian idiot

Don't want to be some beer swillin' hockey nut
And do I look like some frost bitten hosehead
I never learned my alphabet from A to zed

They all live on donuts and moose meat
And they leave the house without packin' heat
Never even bring their guns to the mall
And you know what else is too funny
    Their stupid monopoly money
Can't take 'em seriously at all

Well maple syrup and snow's what they export
They treat curling just like it's a real sport
They think their silly accent is so cute
    Can't understand a thing they're talking aboot

Sure they got their national health care
Cheaper meds, low crime rates and clean air
Then again well they got Celine Dion
Eat their weight in Kraft macaroni
And dream of driving a Zamboni
    All over Saskatchewan

Don't want to be a Canadian idiot
We'll figure out their temperature in Celsius
See the map they're hovering right over us
Tell you the truth it makes me kinda nervous

Always hear the same kind of story
Break your nose and they'll just say sorry
Tell me what kind of freaks are that polite
It's gotta mean they're all up to something
So quick before they see it coming

  • Kathryn from Montoursville, PaThe best line is "They leave their house without packing heat, never even bring their guns to the mall." Lol.
  • Cyberpope from Richmond, CanadaMonopoly money, eh? Guess which country's started coloring their money, too?
  • Bob from Owen Sound, OnDoug & Bob Mackenzie! This song is so funny, some the stuff sometimes is true. and i'm canadian
  • Cierra from Steinbach, MbHey... i'm canadian and i absolutely LOVE this song... lol... i don't know why, but it's only cuz i'm so kool up in this turf... whoa ganster talk much... oh yeah, it's pretty quiet up in the igloo... tee hee hee....... pointless comment but whatever. :P
  • Brad from Knoxville, Tnanother person that has not given weird al permission to parodie his songs is prince.
  • Chris from Claremont, CaSomeone from Canada needs to write in, lol:)
  • Matt from New York, NyActually, Leyna, Weird Al never even approached Billy Joel with "It's Still Billy Joel to Me." Al just assumed that Joel would find it offensive. The only other musicans to turn down Weird Al were Paul McCartney, a strict vegetarian who didn't want "Live and Let Die" associated with "Chicken Pot Pie;" and, Jimmy Page, who wasn't to keen on a polka medley comprised of Led Zepp tunes. Al, then approached Jagger & Richards with a similar idea, and we got the "Hot Rocks Polka." Wow....I know waaay to much random information!
  • Leyna from SpActually, Morgan From Gresham; Billy Joel denied him permission, too. I believe he found the parody too offensive... I don't know why, I thought it was really funny. XD
  • Jailene from K-town, WaHaha. I love Green Day and I love this song. It is possible! Woot!
  • Morgan from Gresham, Orok, matt from MT u got issues. i love love love green day and i still love this song. weird al is a really creative and fun loving person, he isnt just trying to make $ off other ppls ideas. he doesnt HAVE to ask permission to parody someones song, but he always asks anyway. lol the only person to ever deny him permission to parody his music was none other than prince.
  • Ethan from Franklin, TnI hate Green Day. With an undying passion. Ergo I like this song.
  • Darrell from EugeneThe only Canadian idiot I know of is a serial sex killer named Paul Bernardo, who will die in prison. I do not have the desire, the space or the information for a treatise on Mr. Bernardo, but he was a Vanilla Ice wannabe and truck hijacker who killed at least three teenage girls in St. Catherine's, Ontario between 1990 and 1994.
  • Aaron from Thousand Oaks, Caand ugh matt from MT, he makes them to be funny, u kinda have to have permission from a band to do this so green day said its ok... they know better then u about their songs...
  • Nicole from Boston, MaWhile I wouldn't go so far as to say this is one of his best, it is one of his better songs. It doesn't have the same energy as "American Idiot," but it's still funny nonetheless. The lyrics are just great and it does imitate the original very well. Weird Al hasn't lost his touch yet.
  • Matt from Milton, PaThe first time I heard this song I was rolling with laughter. This is one of Weird Al's funniest songs.
  • Ryan from Acushnet, MaThis song is hialrious
