Songfacts®:

  • This ballad was one of three new songs written for 3 Doors Down's "best of" collection The Greatest Hits. Vocalist Brad Arnold told Artist Direct the song "means a lot to me," before adding, "I think a lot of people will be able to relate that song to a situation in their lives. Everybody has someone in their life that they miss or face a situation they weren't ready for the end of. Sometimes, those goodbyes are hard."

  • David from PittsburghOne of the best songs the band has ever recorded. Amazing single.
  • Linda Delgado from Arlington Washington I just bought 3 Doors Down The GREATEST HITS , I have listen to it in my car for a solid week. Fantastic, BAD ASS ...The song GOOGBYES made me cry the first time I listened to it, this really made my HEART SPLIT WIDE OPEN into the VERY DEPTHS of MOTHERS SOUL.My son DANIEL passed away two years ago. two weeks before his 23rd birthday unexpectedly of a pulmonary embolism. We have just spent the whole weekend together , we had the greatest weekend ever full of fun barbecue laughing movies, never in 1 million years would I ever have expected to get that phone call on a Monday morning ,we had that what if, case scenario talk on that Friday. What if I pass away before you mom or you pass away before me, and we share each other's last wishes crazy so most like he knew, so I guess what I'm trying to say is you never know when the last goodbye or when you'll ever see their face again. So live each day to its fullest make sure you take the time to tell your love ones that they matter, take the time to make memories. Thank you.
