Songfacts®:

  • This is a remix to a previous song by 6ix9ine titled "On the Regular." The original version, dropped by the rapper in August 2016, is a solo recording. "Keke," however, features additional verses by Fetty Wap and A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie.
  • It is not clear what the reasoning is behind the song title as the word "Keke" does not appear in the lyrics. 6ix9ine has form for doing this. On both his previous Hot 100 hits, "Gummo" and "Kooda," he never says the name of the song during his rhymes.
  • The song's success was much needed for Fetty Wap, whose run of Hot 100 hits had dried up. The Brooklyn rapper's previous chart success had been his Fifth Harmony collaboration "All In My Head (Flex)" which peaked at #24 in the summer of 2016.
