Songfacts®:

  • A Day to Remember close their You're Welcome album with this hopeful, anthemic ballad. It finds Jeremy McKinnon going for a drive to clear his head and having a pinch me moment.

'Cause I know I got you
And you know you got me
    We got everything we need

McKinnin told Kerrang the song finds him reflecting on how though he may not have everything that he wants in life, he has "everything that matters."
  • Jeremy McKinnon started writing the song with Jon Bellion (Maroon 5's "Memories," Justin Bieber's "Holy") and ended up finishing it later with the help of Nick Long (Machine Gun Kelly's "My Ex's Best Friend" and "Forget Me Too"). Colin Brittain (Papa Roach, All Time Low and 5 Seconds of Summer) produced the track.
  • A Day To Remember live debuted the track on January 25, 2021 during their first ever acoustic livestream event, A Day To Remember: Live at The Audio Compound.
  • Lead guitarist Kevin Skaff - who also puts together ADTR's setlists - did the tracklisting for You're Welcome. McKinnon said that Skatt organized the record so it takes the listener on a journey. It starts with the frontman's frustration of being in a bad relationship on the opening tracks "Brick Wall" and "Mindreader," then daydreaming of a time where he doesn't have to answer to anyone on "F.Y.M." By "Only Money," McKinnon is looking at life differently after losing his grandmother, and on "Everything We Need," he is grateful that he has the things that matter in life.

"It felt really good when we landed on this to close the album," the singer said. "That's where Kevin planted it. It was very much just feeling how the record felt as flowed and just felt good there, ending on a positive note."
  • Reel Bear Media directed the video, which shows McKinnon driving his beat-up pickup truck down I-75 to his home in Florida after a show.
