Songfacts®:

  • Broward County, Florida native Antoine McColister is a rapper who is better known by his stage name Ace Hood. McColister attended Deerfield Beach High School and following a football injury in the start of 10th grade, began to seriously consider rapping as a career. DJ Khaled heard of the young rapper's reputation through the underground circuit and after getting him to rap outside the offices of a radio station, he made Ace his first signing on his label, We the Best. Just a few weeks later, Ace was inked to Def Jam.
  • McColister explained to MTV News that his nickname means he's a force to be reckoned with. "Every time you think of 'ace,' you think of 'one,'" he said. "I always took myself as an army within itself."
  • This Lex Luger produced track originally appeared on Ace's 2010 mixtape The Statement, before being chosen as the first official single off his third studio album, Blood, Sweat & Tears. The official remix features Rick Ross and Lil Wayne.
  • Soon after the song's release, Milwaukee Brewers second baseman Rickie Weeks started using it as his entrance music.
