Songfacts®:

  • In August 1973, Adam Faith was seriously injured in a road accident that nearly cost him a leg. He spent two weeks in hospital. Unsurprisingly, his first release of 1974 was a song called "I Survived" which he co-wrote with Dave Courtney.
  • The two men produced the single, which was released on the Warner Brothers label. "I Survived" is the first track on the album I Survive and was made with (for him) a rather unusual team; it was engineered by Martin Birch who worked with Deep Purple, and the 4 minute 51 second album version features lead guitar by Ritchie Blackmore. >>>
