Songfacts®:

  • Steven Tyler told Rolling Stone magazine, April 15, 2004: "Listen to 'Somebody,' a song I wrote for Aerosmith's first album: It's all from the Yardbirds. They were the s--t to us, out of all the British bands in the '60s. The Yardbirds were a bit of a mystery. They had an eclecticism - the Gregorian chant-ness of the vocals, the melodic diversity, the way they used guitar feedback. I loved that weirdness." >>

  • RolandoxxI am an Aerosmith fan back since the "toys in the attic" album. I agree "somebody" written by Steven Tyler is great little ballad from their first album. This is a very personal song to me. It touch me emotionally. It capture my attention. I also went out of my way to learn it by ear. To actually feel what Steven was actually feeling when he wrote it. Aerosmith - The gladiators of Rock.
  • Katie from Reno, NvI love this song. Hell i love the album. Though I completely forgot it was in my ipod until now. Why hasn't anyone commented on this song? You all complain how Aerosmith was better in the beginning and you don't comment on one of the first songs by them??
