Songfacts®:

  • This sensual, Spanish-language reggaeton song finds Anitta expressing her wish to get involved with a guy she's drawn to ("Envolver" translates into English as "involve"). She's confident there will be sexual chemistry and once they make love for the first time, he will come back for more.
  • Anitta released "Envolver" as the fourth single from Versions of Me on November 11, 2021. She first performed the song on her Carnatal show on December 12, 2021.
  • Anitta released a remix featuring American singer Justin Quiles on February 17, 2022. She performed the new version for the first time on Premio Lo Nuestro 2022 a week later.
  • The song went viral in March 2022 after the "Envolver" dance challenge gained popularity on TikTok. The booty-grinding dance involves fans slowly dropping to the floor and swinging their hips to the rhythm in imitation of a famous Anitta dance move. "I'm like this 24/7," she told Billboard of her sexy moves. "I'm not pretending to be like this and I think that's part of the song's success. If I had an actual strategy, it wouldn't have worked."
  • "Envolver" broke a string of records, including becoming the first song ever to place inside the Top 50 of all Latin countries on Spotify. It also broke the record for most one-day streams in Anitta's native Brazil with over 4.5 million plays.
  • The song gave Anitta her second chart-topper in Brazil, following 2013's "Zen." It also placed in the Top 10 of many other Spanish-speaking countries.
  • Anitta performed this song at the 2022 MTV Video Music Awards, where it won for Best Latin.
