Songfacts®:

  • Here, Anne-Marie links up with Niall Horan to reminisce about a past romance. A certain song played an important part in their relationship and now whenever it plays on the radio it brings back memories of their time together.
  • Anne-Marie and Niall Horan wrote the song with Phil Plested (Little Mix's "Touch," Lewis Capaldi's "Before You Go") and the producers TMS.

London-based songwriting and record production team TMS comprise Tom "Froe" Barnes, Ben Kohn and Peter "Merf" Kelleher. They previously worked with Anne-Marie on her Speak Your Mind track "Can I Get Your Number" and Niall Horan on his Flicker cut "On My Own."
  • Speaking on the Make It Reign with Josh Smith podcast, Anne-Marie said Horan picked up his guitar as soon as they arrived at the studio and the first thing he played was this track. After he moved to the piano, she thought, now he's showing off. "I can't play an instrument," Anne-Marie said, "and he was just going around the whole studio."
  • "Our Song" is one of three tunes that Anne-Marie and Niall Horan came up with in the studio in October 2020. After teasing this track for a couple of weeks, Anne-Marie released it as the third single from her Therapy album on May 21, 2021.
  • The Michael Holyk-directed video features the two singers assuming the roles of a British Bonnie & Clyde as they make their getaway in a Jaguar XK120. Anne-Marie told The Metro they preferred to be partners in crime rather than being "lovey-dovey" and "all over each other."

Michael Holyk is best known for filming several of Jake Bugg's videos, including "Lightning Bolt," "Trouble Town," "Gimme The Love" and "Love, Hope and Misery."
