  • April Wine is a hard rock band from Nova Scotia, Canada. They chose the name April Wine because they thought the two words sounded good together.
  • Original band members David Henman and Ritchie Henman are brothers. Jim Henman is their cousin.
  • April Wine released over 20 albums. Their live performances continue to draw devoted crowds across Canada and around the world more than 30 years after their first album.
  • The band's second album, On Record, was certified Gold in Canada. This success established April Wine as one of Canada's most significant rock bands.
  • The Henman brothers left April Wine during recording of the third album. Remaining band members Myles Goodwyn and Jim Clench auditioned replacements in early 1973, and selected Jerry Mercer and Gary Moffet. The band became tighter and flashier with its new members. The third album, Electric Jewels, continues to be a fan favorite. It includes the classic songs "Weeping Widow," "Just Like That "and "Lady Run Lady Hide." >>

  • The band broke up in the mid-1980s after recording their 11th album, Animal Grace. They held a Farewell Tour of Canada, and Goodwyn and his family moved to the Bahamas. April Wine's 12th studio album featured only Goodwyn and Brian Greenway. Moffet, Mercer, and Lang had already gone their separate ways.
  • April Wine reunited in 1992 with a sold out concert in Manitoba, Canada. The band included Goodwyn, Greenway, Mercer (who left the band in 1984), Clench (who left the band in 1975), and a new member--third guitarist Steve Segal.
  • Breen LeBoeuf replaced bassist Jim Clench in January 2007. LeBoeuf was a member of the Quebec rock band Offenbach, and is a longtime friend of Mercer and Greenway.
