Songfacts®:

  • This sexually charged jam features Future. Although the former Nickelodeon TV star and the Dirty Sprite creator may seem like an odd pairing, Grande said during an interview on 102.7 KIIS FM, that she's always wanted to work with the Atlanta rapper. "I knew I wanted to work with Future, but I didn't know if we would find the right song to do together because we're so different," she said. "But we really found a dope vibe and it's very unique and exciting."
  • The song was produced by Ilya Salmanzadeh. The Swedish songwriter and producer has co-penned a number of other songs for Grande in partnership with hitmaker Max Martin, but this is the first track he has helmed for her on his own.
  • The music video was directed by Chris Marrs Piliero, who previously shot the clips for Grande's "Break Free" and "Santa Tell Me." The visual features Grande singing in different locations while people all around her aggressively make out. Later, Future delivers his rhymes in an office surrounded by employees who start smooching each other as well.

Los Angeles-based actor Mike Still who wrote and starred in ABC's Broken series is the guy with the ginger beard and beanie at the beginning of the clip. We see him making out with fellow comedian Alison Stevenson. Still told Billboard magazine that his biggest concern was falling off the car.

"We kept sliding off the hood of the car, so we had sandbags behind us," he recalled. "You could feel Ariana's presence as everything was going on, and I'm just trying not to slide off. I wanted to make it look good for her."
  • Ariana Grande debuted "Everyday" live as part of her album showcase for Vevo in New York on May 21, 2016.
  • The song trended on TikTok during the 2023 summer as fans used it to soundtrack a variety of clips, from cute videos with their partners to shots of favorite K-pop idols.
