Songfacts®:

  • Here, ArrDee lets a girl stay the night. She's keen on the rapper but he's got a girlfriend already so he tells her she's gotta check out in the morning. Though ArrDee likes her, it's clear she's just another notch on his bedpost as he boasts about all the other girls he's been with.
  • The summery anthem centers on the chorus of British house music singer Kyla's 2008 funky single "Do You Mind." Though only a minor hit when originally released, it received widespread attention eight years later when Drake sampled it for his international smash hit "One Dance."
  • ArrDee originally teased "Hello Mate" before featuring it during performances at Glastonbury in June 2022 and Wireless festival the following month. He released it as a single on July 14, 2022.
  • ArrDee's go-to producers WhYJay and LiTek created the beat. Their other joint productions for the Brighton rapper include "Flowers (Say My Name)" and "War."
  • Shot on the Mediterranean island of Ibiza, the sun-kissed video sees ArrDee with a love interest during the day and partying at night. The rapper's close Brighton friend, Alfie Cauty, directed the clip, which also features Kyla.
