  • The title track of Ashley Monroe's third studio album, this was penned by Marc Beeson, Jamie Floyd and Allen Shamblinis. It was the only song on the record that Monroe didn't write, but she told People it's the one that resonated with her the most. "'The Blade' is such a special song to me," she said. "I have been on the receiving end of that pain. It actually makes me physically hurt when I sing it... but in a good way."

"I'm so thankful to the writers of that song," Monroe added. "They talked about my heartbreak in a way that I've never heard. That's hard to do."
  • Ronnie Dunn later recorded "The Blade" for his 2022 album 100 Proof Neon. The song was brought to him by Big Machine Label Group's executive VP of A&R Allison Jones, before Monroe recorded it. "But by the time I pressed go on it, they came back and said Ashley is not only recording it, but making it the title of her new record," he explained to Billboard. "So, I kind of got out of the way of it. But that's the kind of song you want to write as a writer, and the kind of song you want to record, because it is just magic."
