Songfacts®:

  • Ashley described this to MTV News as "a strong survival song." It was written by the Swedish production team Twin, who are Joacim Persson, Emil Svensson, Johan Alkenas and Niclas Molinder.
  • 90210 actor Adam Gregory co-starred in the song's music video as Ashley's cheating former boyfriend. She told MTV News that the clip shows the singer-actress getting her revenge: "He drives away from his house, I enter his house, and I invite a lot of people over - we destroy it. There's also male models there that I'm taking pictures with, I'm posing with, leaving them all around the house - so then he comes home with the girl that he is cheating on me with and sees his place is destroyed! Great revenge!"
  • Ashley is a fan of Kelly Clarkson and the American Idol winner was an inspiration for this song. She explained to MTV News that this tune, "definitely came from an inspired-by-Kelly [place], because when I was younger 'Since U Been Gone' was one of my favorite songs, whenever I was going through relationship problems, to put on. [It] made me feel so much better and that definitely inspired 'It's Alright, It's OK.'"
  • The visual was directed by Scott Speer with whom Ashley had a two year relationship before breaking up in late 2011. The video director has also helmed the clip for the singer/actress's single "Crank It Up," as well as clips for Jordin Sparks, David Archuleta and Blake Shelton.
