Songfacts®:

  • Whilst Swedish DJ Avicii is best known for his sample-based songs such as "Levels," Dutch house producer Nicky Romero works more with DJs like David Guetta and Calvin Harris. The pair battle it out on this EDM collaboration.
  • The song started life as an instrumental under the name of "Nicktim" after the first names of Tim "Avicii" Berg and Nicky Romero and was first debuted by the Swede at his shows in early 2012. Its title was changed after vocals by Swedish pop singer Noonie Bao were added and finally got released as a digital download in Avicii's home country on December 26, 2012 by the Universal Music label.
  • The song was the first UK #1 single for both artists in their own right, though previously Avicii had previously contributed to another chart-topping song when "Levels" was used as the background sample for Flo Rida's "Good Feeling".
