  • This tale of a breakup in which no party is particularly loveable is the first single from Babybird, a.k.a. Stephen Jones' sixth album, Ex-Maniac.
  • Hollywood star Johnny Depp plays guitar on this track and he managed to complete his parts in a few hours. Depp told Q magazine March 2010: "Babybird is a national treasure, if you're British. For everyone else, he's a diamond waiting to be found."
  • Depp also directed the video, which was filmed at Hatfield House in Hertfordshire, the home of the home of the 7th Marquess of Salisbury.
  • Ex-Maniac was produced by Bruce Witkin, who used to play in a band with Depp. It was the Hollywood star who introduced Jones to the Grammy-nominated producer.
