• Bad Bunny recorded "Monaco" for his fifth solo album, Nadie Sabe Lo Que Va a Pasar Mañana. The rapper's previous album, Un Verano Sin Ti, predominantly fused reggaeton, cumbia, and indie pop. One of this album's most noticeable features is its conspicuous lack of reggaetón. Instead, this is one of several tracks where Bunny returns to his trapero roots.

• Much of the music video takes place at the Grand Prix in Monaco 2023, where Bad Bunny is watching the Oracle Red Bull Racing team and talking to the drivers, Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez.
