Songfacts®:

  • The Spanish word "vete" means "go away from here." This song finds Bad Bunny addressing a girl he's split up with. The beginning of the chorus, translated into English, reads:

    Go away, huh-huh-huh
No one is holding you and the door is open, huh
Don't worry about of us, our story is already dead

The Puerto Rican singer-rapper makes it clear to his former lover he wants absolutely nothing to do with her henceforward.
  • The intro interpolates reggaeton singer Noriega's 2004 hit "Si Te Vas."
  • The song was produced by Bad Bunny's previous collaborator Subelo NEO, who is also known for working with Lunay ("A Solas") and Eladio Carrión ("Mi Cubana" remix).
  • "Vete" landed at #33 on the Hot 100. It was the highest debut ever on the chart for an all-Spanish-language song by an act with no accompanying artists.
  • The YHLQMDLG album debuted at #2 on the Billboard 200, becoming the highest-charting all-Spanish-language album ever.
