Songfacts®:

  • Hell: The Sequel is the debut EP by Bad Meets Evil, an American Hip-Hop duo composed of Royce da 5'9" and Eminem. The bulk of the disc's production, including this track, was helmed by longtime collaborator and D12 member, Mr. Porter (a/k/a Kon Artis).
  • The song's chorus finds comedian Mike Epps singing a line from his stand-up: "All these young kids ain't got no direction. S---, these little kids on everything: syrup, painkillers, cigarettes, weed, Hennessy, vodka," he croons.
  • The genesis of the Hell: The Sequel project came about when Mr. Porter and Royce were working together on an album for the latter and decided to approach Eminem to be on this track. "It had this feeling that Em would be right on it," Porter recalled to Billboard magazine, "but we were thinking about how Em could talk about being on drugs and everything being that he wasn't in that place anymore. But it turned out crazy. He wound up jumping right back into that character, and that showed how clear-minded he is, to be able to remember what to say and how to say it when it came to that concept. Everything really started there."
