Songfacts®:

  • "Remember When" is a harrowing song inspired by frontman Tommy Vext's difficult relationship with his twin brother. It tells the story of how the two boys were at one time close, "stealing records, skipping school" together. Years later, the pair were estranged when Tommy's homeless, intoxicated and desperate brother broke into the singer's Brooklyn apartment and wounded him during an attempted robbery.

And now I'm tired of the violence
I'm so tired of the sirens
And it's better me, better me than you

Vext told Kerrang: "My twin brother is currently serving 17 years for attempted murder - he tried to kill me during a home invasion when he was high in 2010. (Testifying against him) was definitely one of the more difficult moments of my life."

He added: "'Remember When' kinda goes through a timeline and highlights two people who lived the exact same life and had the exact same hardships and advantages and disadvantages, and who we are ultimately as adults is defined by the choices that we made, and our lives reflect those choices."
  • "Remember When" reached #1 on Billboard's Mainstream Rock Songs chart. Bad Wolves had already led the tally once with their cover of The Cranberries' "Zombie," but this was their first original song to achieve that feat.
