Songfacts®:

  • This was one of two songs that Beartooth frontman Caleb Shomo wrote with Los Angeles producer Drew Fulk (a.k.a. WZRD BLD) for the Ohio rockers' Disease album. (The other was "Believe"). Falk's other credits include Motionless In White's "Break The Cycle," Bullet For My Valentine's "Not Dead Yet" and Lil Peep's "Runaway."
  • Caleb Shomo told Kerrang! that "You Never Know" was the first song they wrote together and the pair penned the tune in about 40 minutes.

"We just went and got coffee and talked about things going on in our lives and our mental states at the time and just sort of came to a common ground and the song just rolled out from there," he said.
  • The live video was filmed during Beartooth's June 7, 2019 performance at the Rock Am Ring festival in Germany.
