  • Hill wrote the song with Tom Mann, Negin Djafari and producer Peter "Lostboy" Rycroft (Tom Grennan's "Little Bit Of Love," Griff's "Black Hole") at her writing camp. According to the singer, they discussed some of her current life experiences before coming up with "Last Time."
  • Hill has form for using her love life as material for her songs. She penned "Better Off Without You," and "Wish You Well" following her breakup with her boyfriend of three years in 2019. By the time she released "Heaven On My Mind" in 2020, Hill and her ex had renewed their relationship.
  • Jordan Rossi directed the video, which switches between a love story narrative and Hill performing the song at Bethnal Green Working Men's Club. Rossi's resumé also includes filming the clips for The Vamps' "Better" and Natasha Bedingfield's "Kick It."
