Songfacts®:

  • Big Grams is a collaboration between former Outkast member Big Boi, along with Sarah Barthel and Josh Carter of the electro-pop group Phantogram. Their connection came about when Big Boi took to Shazam after hearing Phantogram's "Mouthful of Diamonds" track on a pop-up ad while surfing the web. Barthel and Carter then teamed up with Big Boi for three tracks on his 2012 Vicious Lies and Dangerous Rumors album.
  • This is one of seven tracks that the trio recorded for their collaborative EP, Big Grams. It was the first song they started working on day one in the studio and they recorded the vocals that afternoon.
  • The song also features Skrillex. Big Grams recalled on a Reddit AMA: "Skrillex hijacked 'Drum Machine.' Literally."
