• Bizarre, Inc. was a dance-techno band from Stafford, England. Two British DJs, Dean Meredith and Mark "Aaron" Archer, got together in 1989 and decided to form a dance group. They produced a few singles and recruited two more DJs: Andrew Meecham and Carl Turner.
  
  They scored a few dance hits in Great Britain, and finally managed to break out in 1992 when session singer Angie Brown joined and added her powerful vocals to their music. "I'm Gonna Get You" turned out to be their biggest hit, not only in their native Great Britain, but also in the United States. It reached #1 on the US Dance chart and reached a respectable #47 on the Billboard Hot 100. Brown also performed and co-wrote some songs for their next album, Surprise, which scored some success. Bizarre, Inc. went their separate ways in 1999, but all of its members remained active in the music industry. >>

• Typical of '90s techno, this song is heavy on beat and short on story, with the same few lines repeated over and over ("I'm gonna get you, baby," "Why waste your time..."). Other techno hits from this time that followed a similar formula include "More And More" by Captain Hollywood Project and "Be My Lover" by La Bouche.
• The repeating line, "Why waste your time? You know you're gonna be mine" is lifted from Jocelyn Brown's 1985 single "Love's Gonna Get You," but it's an interpolation, not a sample. (Brown's line "I've got the power!" from that same song was sampled on Snap!'s 1990 hit "The Power.)"
  
  Rather than shelling out for a pricey sample, Bizarre, Inc.'s producers asked Angie Brown, who was a seasoned singer-songwriter, to re-sing it. Even though house music, the genre "I'm Gonna Get You" belonged to, was entirely new ground for Angie, she nailed the recording in just 20 minutes.
