Songfacts®:

  • Andy Biersack's vocals for this song were recorded entirely outside on the grass in producer John Feldmann's yard. He recalled to Kerrang:

"I was laying down for a large part of the process and the goal there was to sound as if I was speaking to myself in a more introspective sense. John wanted me to sound a little out of breath and like I was surrounded by nature. I'm super proud of how it came out. You can hear me lighting up the cigarette right at the beginning.

I almost sound a little sad, and it was like acting in a way. Not that I wasn't being true to my emotions on the song, but I definitely tried to play up that feeling, and it came out great."
