Songfacts®:

  • This impassioned Brent Anderson and Ryan Hurd penned love song finds Shelton duetting with Ashley Monroe. Shelton's duet partner also comprises one third of The Pistol Annies along with his wife at the time, Miranda Lambert, and Angaleena Presley. The pair previously sang together on "You Ain't Dolly (And You Ain't Porter)," a track from Ashley Monroe's 2013 album Like a Rose.
  • Shelton said this was the toughest vocal on Bringing Back the Sunshine for him. "That song is just so range-y and, on top of that, I knew Ashley was going to come in and sing on it, and I knew that people were gonna hear her singing in a way they'd never heard her sing before," he explained.

"We all know she's a singer/songwriter, and we've all heard that side of her, but I don't think people know the girl can wail like she can. I just wanted to step up to that level, so I was really hard on myself, and tried to make that as best as I could possibly get it."
