Songfacts®:

  • Brad Paisley first met his wife Kimberly Williams when he cast her in his "I'm Gonna Miss Her (The Fishin' Song)" music video. They got married on March 15, 2003 and she has since been the muse to several of his songs, including "She's Everything," "Little Moments," "Then" and "The Mona Lisa."

This blues-influenced love ballad is another one to add to the singer's collection of Kimberly Williams-Paisley-inspired tunes.
  • The heartfelt song finds Paisley giving thanks to God for some of Kimberly's specific qualities.

My miracle is five foot five
No doubt in my mind, she's the reason I'm alive
    And I wasn't always spiritual
    Only one thing's for sure
How could I not have faith in the God that created her

Paisley co-wrote the soaring tune with Gary Nicholson. The singer admitted that he stepped out of his comfort zone a little bit. "I write a lot of songs that can be various looks at relationships, from all angles... I can be a little bit ornery when it comes to writing love songs. I don't typically put it all out there. But in this one, I did," he explained. "This is the most powerful statement I think I can make, and the one I wrote it for, she's my worst critic, typically, but in this case, I think I got it right."
  • Paisley originally shared a bare-bones version of the song on Instagram on March 8, 2019, in honor of International Women's Day. It was released to country radio on March 25, 2019.
  • Following the release of "My Miracle," Paisley went on Twitter to explain more about the inspiration behind the song.

"There's a long list of men who became much better people because of a woman – who found their faith, who found who they were supposed to be, whose lives were saved because of a woman in their life," the singer wrote. "I feel like I'm one of those men, and that's what this song is about."
