Songfacts®:

  • This braggadocios track finds Brent Faiyaz crooning about how his fame and globe-trotting lifestyle puts a strain on his relationship.

She hold me down like gravity
We on front page of them blogs

The girl is always in Faiyaz's thoughts, and he feels a sense of "gravity" pulling him back to her when he's traveling.
  • On the chorus, Faiyaz warns the girl not to pin all her hopes on him. Though she was there for him when he needed her, the R&B star is unlikely to be faithful.

You held me up when I was down and out
But I don't want you waitin' 'round for me
I don't want you waitin' too long

Faiyaz has "had my fair share of women" and doesn't want to break the girl's heart. He is being realistic about his playa ways and is trying to protect her emotions.
  • Tyler, The Creator raps the third verse, during which he finds common ground with Faiyaz on the pressures traveling puts on relationships. He too is likely to cheat on his girl back home because "three months, that's too long without somethin' that's sweet." But Tyler assures her he won't forget "the bakery" that's waiting for him back home.
  • Brent Faiyaz and Tyler The Creator co-wrote the song with Steve Lacy from the Los Angeles-based R&B band The Internet. Lacy also plays guitar and bass on the track.
  • DJ Dahi supplied the thudding production. The Los Angeles producer has also worked with Kendrick Lamar ("XXX.") and Drake ("Worst Behavior").
