Songfacts®:

  • This song finds BTS singing about how this world will be a better place with simple human connection and kindness.
  • "Make it Right" was co-written by Ed Sheeran while BTS were on vacation in Europe. The collaboration came about after the "Shape Of You" singer gave a shout out in his Instagram about Love Yourself: Tear. "Everybody was very happy because Ed said he liked our album," RM recalled to Radio.com.

As BTS and Sheeran shared love in their DMs, the English pop star worked on something new for the group. They exchanged ideas via email: Sheeran wrote the hooks with his producers, and BTS penned the lyrics.
  • BTS recorded a remix with an opening verse in English from Lauv. The Los Angeles-based singer's contribution replaces the original Korean lines from BTS members V, Jimin and Jungkook.
  • The new version of "Make it Right" is accompanied by a music video that alternates between a sweet animated narrative of a knight slaying a dragon and footage from BTS' Love Yourself: Speak Yourself world tour. The cartoon story serves as a metaphor to honor the bond between the band and ARMY.
