Songfacts®:

  • "Paradise" was originally written by London-born producer MNEK, with the title of "Mouth." His lyrics were about having a broken heart following a breakup, but they were changed after he sent the song to BTS. MNEK told Billboard:

"It was completely different lyrics - they changed it to like a self-help song. The original theme I talked about was much bitchier."
  • MNEK has credits on a number of UK hit songs including ones by Duke Dumont ("Need U (100%)") and Little Mix ("Touch"). He also recorded his own collaboration with Zara Larsson, "Never Forget You," which reached the charts worldwide.
